Hi there, I'm driving down from Seattle to Port Orford this week, and I'd like to stop somewhere along the way for a three night hike with my 17 year old. Do folks have a favorite hike, perhaps along the coast? It would have to be a loop or an in-and-out. Along the water would be fun, and snow free. I was thinking about Blacklock Point from Floras Lake.

It's pretty tough to find a three night backpacking trip along the Coast. Most of the trails just aren't long enough to support that many nights, unless you want to stay at the same spot for multiple nights.
I've always liked Bayocean Spit for overnights, but it might become boring after three nights. Pack in your own water for that trip.
Most of Cascade Head doesn't open until 7/15.
Your best bet might be to do three individual hikes/overnights on your way down the coast... something like this:
Night 1: Bayocean Spit https://www.oregonhikers.org/field_guid ... _Loop_Hike
Night 2: Drift Creek https://www.oregonhikers.org/field_guid ... North_Hike
Night 3: Cummins Creek https://www.oregonhikers.org/field_guid ... _Loop_Hike
As for Blacklock Point, I am 99% sure that area is day use only.

Thanks for the insight! I guess I'm used to the North Cascades, where it is really easy to piece together a multiday hike. Anyway, perhaps I'd have more luck a little inland. I'll look at those suggested!

It's easy to put together a multiday hike anywhere in the Cascades. The coast is a different issue. The highway runs right along it a lot of the time so there are few areas of wilderness large enough. And in my relatively limited coastal hiking experience, I tend to refer to it as the Kingdom of Mud.
