Camping on Mt. Hood / Hood NF

Post by redfishredfish » April 29th, 2019, 12:00 pm

Does anyone have any idea about current snow conditions on Mount Hood?

My friends and I were looking to camp on/around Hood (maybe the east side) of Hood for MDW. Thinking about Badger Lake, but open to alternatives!

Don't need anything super isolated, we are just looking to not have to camp next to RVs.

The road to Badger Lake campground probably won't be snow-free until June, but the trail up Badger Creek may well be passable by then.

I'll be hiking up Badger Creek this coming weekend, pretty much until I get stopped by snow. I'll report back how clear it is, and hopefully we can use that to interpolate a month from now.
