For anyone who's a fan of Mt. Adams, Darryl Lloyd's book is a great read with wonderful photographs. I gifted it to myself for Christmas in fact!

I agree and encourage folks to get it. Darryl is a friend, though, so I am biased.

The book has three sections, dealing with the human history, natural history, and a third section describing parts of the mountain from a more recreational perspective. Other major volcanoes of the region already had books of this type on them, but this is a first for Mt Adams. Darryl has been working on the book for decades, which means, for example, he has interviews with people who mined sulfur from the summit back around WWII who have long since passed away, but he interviewed them decades ago, and saved all that material till the book was ready to publish. As such, nobody could ever really do this again, especially since he grew up in Glenwood and so had a personal connection with many of them.
