Mark's Weather Blog + Nov/Dec Update

Post by Schrauf » October 25th, 2018, 6:08 am

Good discussion from Mark Nelsen on typical winter snowfall in weak El Nino years, like we have setting up for this winter. Also, with a focus on November/December, for anyone hoping for some late season high elevation hiking, or those waiting for the snow to just fall so they can switch to skies or snowshoes...

In general Mark's blog is the best source for local weather banter that goes into more detail than the general forecasts.

With the combination of El Nino and The Blob, definitely looks like a warmish year, again.

thanks, interesting

Maybe we'll have a few more weeks you can get up on the mountain before it gets closed off by snow

Interesting that the weather forecasters are confident enough to predict December weather given the snafu this morning.

Wrong-da's forecast on KATU at 5:45 this AM called for rain showers to start after 5 pm...but it was raining in Tigard (pretty steadily) at 6 am. Hmmm...nine hours versus nine minutes.

By the book, Captain. If minutes seemed like hours and hours seemed like days...
