Your Best Owl Photos
Seeing this Barred Owl at Cape Horn this morning, made me think that I would like to see photos others have taken of owls. Name the owl species and location where you took the photo. I will post another later....

The vast majority of owls that you see around here will be barred owls. Not only are they more numerous, they're also much less human-averse.

I feel like this is cheating but I took this with a giant lens back in the day when I had one. It's on film probably from the late 90s/early 00s
This one was wintering at a culvert east of Salem.

Do my only owl photos count?
I found this guy sitting on Lolo Pass Road
This is the smallest owl I've ever seen, much less gotten a picture of. See it?
A bit closer. Note the alder cones for size reference.
Yes, it really is an owl!

Wow! Those are great photos. I've never managed to get a picture. I did get buzzed by one last month while camping on high prairie. It was right at twilight and I was excited just to see an owl.

Great Horned Owl trying to warm up after a cold night at Idaho National Labs nuclear reactor museum.
I keep making protein shakes but they always turn out like margaritas.

My favorite photos are not always technically the best.
