Perseid 2018

Post by drm » August 6th, 2018, 1:07 pm

It's that time of year again! And this year it coincides with the new moon, so perfect viewing. Next Saturday and Sunday nights.

Unfortunately the forecast says it might be cloudy.

But you can always head a bit farther east.

Also: Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and Venus are all up too, in a row. Does it get any better than that?

I'm just trying to decide on the best place, assuming the forecast clears up.

We were out at Clear Lake this last weekend, and the meteors were already starting up. Down on the dry lake bed, we had lots of open sky and very little light pollution, it's a decent spot without driving to central Oregon.
