Bull of the woods wilderness. Bug report please.

Post by hikervan » August 2nd, 2018, 6:23 pm

I'm interested in heading into the BotW wilderness this weekend (8/4/2018). I've got head net, deet, and Picardian. I'm hoping to feel/see a reduced number of the biters due to the recent high heat. Has anyone be there lately that can provide a bug report?

July 21st they we're moderately annoying. Moving, no problem. Sitting reading a book, well I went into my tent. They should be much better now.

This probably isn't too helpful, as it was quite a while ago, but I went in mid June and the bugs we're pretty annoying but manageable in general. They were pretty bad near Elk lake and nightmarish (the worst I've ever dealt with) on the ridge above welcome lakes. It should all be a lot better now, especially in the heat during the day :)
