This is profoundly sad news. T-Roy had more than his fair share medical setbacks over the past few years & yet always kept fighting through them.
I really think the old Loony group of a few years ago & any new loonies who want to join need to get together for a Memorial T-Roy Hike & rememberance. Lets get this done Folks..

Yep, we did, but I didn't get to talk to him on that trip beyond a few words. I thought he was in pretty good shape, though. I wonder what happened?Eric Peterson wrote:Don, we all hiked with Tom on a double dog hike a few years ago

Very sad news.
I always enjoyed Tom's posts, both here, and on NWhikers.
I will miss his humor and his knowledge.
Count me in for the memorial hike in Tom's honor.

Awful news. I am so glad so many of you knew and hiked with him. It is so amazing the number of times he conquered Mt St Helens. That in itself is really an incredible feat. My condolences to his family, friends and fellow hikers during this difficult time.
Filling my bucket, one hike at a time.

Although I did not know him, this is indeed sad news. The good news is that he went out doing what he loved, and it sounds like it was pretty quick. We can all hope for no more.

Very sad news. You could tell by his posts he was a well seasoned hiker/climber. I met him once along with Crusak on top of Dog on that cold, icy January day in 2011. Very nice guy. Condolences to Tom’s family and friends.
