So sorry to hear this, poor guy. I would add a suggestion that you also notify animal shelters in neighboring counties. Sometimes a wandering dog will be picked up by someone who lives out of the area and they turn them in to the shelter in their county. Good luck in your search, I will keep you both in my thoughts.

Good idea! If you haven't already: Multnomah County Animal Control (in Troutdale) and the Oregon Humane Society. Maybe Hood River County, too.

At least it's evidently not going to snow for a while, although the weekend looks rather soggy.

I'm sorry to hear this, hope he is not hurt and found his way back to town by now. I know how it can feel. I wish you'll find Huey soon and will have this behind.

Remember there are several forest roads that lead down to 26 from Wildcat, this is a shorter distance than Wildcat Mt. Drive If a dog were going downhill towards noise of homes these are closer than the first houses on Wildcat Mt. Drive. Might be worth posting along 26 or even asking the locals that live along there.

You might want to post to http://www.ifish.net as well. Lots of outdoorsmen/women on there.

Thanks for the tips everybody. I've been searching everyday but no huey yet. Today I received two separate tips that a dog similar in description was seen near 224 and wildcat mountain road this morning. So I've moved my search out of the wilderness area and focusing a little lower. I have a lot of friends and family in that area so I'm staying hopeful for a safe return! I've put out tons of posters and contacted all the vets/feed stores in the area.

I so hope you find him. I know you must be heartsick.

There was another sighting last night towards the estacada side of wildcat mountain road. We went out right away but we never saw him. We put out a little food in hopes of keeping him in that area. There was some more searching today but nothing. I'm going to head out after work at like midnight. Seems like I'm more likely to see him at night.
