I think I'm going to Romona Falls, or Burnt lake. :)

I have two meetings, and otherwise I'm dehydrating food for a backpack right after the 4th. My dehydrator is out in the garage, both to keep the house from heating up and in hopes the hot air out there will help the dehyrdrator along. As a retiree, I do my hiking on weekdays.

San Diego County Fair. I sure wish that I was going to be on one of the trails up there though. Reading the PDX hikers trip reports and seeing the gorgeous photos are part of what keeps me sane until we get to drive up north. I've been living vicariously through your experiences. Never forget how fortunate you are to live in such a wonderful place.

I'm headed up to Beacon Rock tomorrow - Sunday - morning.

I was going to go last night about 4:30 pm and even got dressed and ready to go. Then I realized I didn't want to cross Portland's rush hour.

Thought is would have been nice up there pre-sunset. But took my boots off, and plan to drive out early tomorrow morning and go up during the cooler part of the day.

Such a short hike up, water is almost not needed.

I may take a pack if I decide to cook a Mountain House meal at the top.

I'm heading to the Powell's Books Trailhead. I'm packing a purse with a water bottle, almonds, and dried mango, and I'm hiking a straight route from the front door to the magazine section. Then, I'm going to look for trail spurs off to Oregon hiking books, website design, and general humor.

It's my favorite air-conditioned wilderness.

I'm off to the coast for a family oriented week. I'm hoping to sneak in a few short morning hikes.

See you next week.
