Not just a weekender this time. Tomorrow (Friday, Aug 1) I will drive to the Wallowas and do a 40 mile loop followed by a 68 mile loop and return on Aug 15. This is my annual big extravagnaza! Whoop! Whoop! :D On Sept 2, it's back to driving a school bus, so I must act now! Limited time offer!

I'm getting up and heading up the Smith Rock loop trail at 5-6am or so I can be done by 10am before it gets too hot, those rocks in the morning sun just glow! My favorite hike while at my daughter's house in Prineville.

Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves. ~John Muir

My husband is off to Nashville for work for ten days, so i'm on my own. I am planning a day hike to Siouxon creek tomorrow, and the hottest day of the year ride on sunday.
