Re: 2012 Winter Meet-Deet! Sat., Dec. 8th
WOW! What an overwhelmingly large group of PH members! Such a fun night. With a crowd that large I didn't get to chat with everyone I wanted to. But everyone seemed to be having a great time.
Great to see all of you! On the drive home I was going over the list of Trail Friends that I met or got to see again last night: Jane, Ryan, Splintercat, Brad & Dawn, Jessbee, Guy (saw him, didn't get to talk to him), Koda, Chase, Karl, 'potato' Joe, raven, Kam, Don Nelsen, Molly & Helen, MileageMike & Carol, PeachyNinja, Jack, Spitfire (and the gentlemen sitting with them, whose name I can't recall), 'drm' Dean, Cascadehiker, Viking, EP & Julie...
Thanks to everyone who worked hard to organize the event and make it happen. I hope I didn't talk anyone's ear off too much, or keep them from mingling more if they wanted to.

Wish I could have made it last night. Unfortunately I'm in Lincoln City for work, but what a great turnout!

I had a great time. It was fun to reconnect with many of you, meet some new faces and I missed seeing a few other pdx hikers.
Thanks for all the hard work.

Lots of folks I didn't get to talk to last night -- big crowd! And apologies for everyone who spilled beer on themselves courtesy of me shuffling back and forth in what was left of the "aisles"... we packed the place!
Some pics from my phone, such that they are:
Just getting started, a couple of TKO Board members (Renee and Alex) on the right, talking USFS trail policy, no doubt:
Our terrific raffle-ers calling out the winning numbers (and yes, I won another Bongo!):
My ULTIMATE moment of Zen: Don and Roberta Lowe signing my PRISTINE, VINTAGE copy of "Mount Hood: Portrait of a Magnificent Mountain"... oh yeah, baby, OH YEAH!!!
The Lowes taking a good look at the TKO/PH.org calendar -- and we sent them home with a copy for their trouble (they signed a LOT of books last night!)
The big winner in the raffle... what a cool prize!
Things are winding down... the pizza is gone... as is the beer...
So, here's to next year -- hope to see a few of you on the trail before the next Meet n' Deet! Thanks for coming, and thanks for supporting TKO & Portland Hikers!

Thanks for sharing pics. I hope a few others share too! I was at a holiday Gayla doing Mayhem style Karaoke = Really bad!! No.... really, really bad!!
Hopefully next year I can make it to the Meet & Karaoke Deet to sing some hiking Karaoke songs with fellow TFFers

Mayhem, what you might not know about the dec meet-n-deet is that your avatar is part of the trivia questions....
It was a good social and I enjoyed meeting new portland hikers. Folks I got to meet and chat with:
>Mileagemike
>Crusak
>Jack
>Spitfire
>Viking
>Raven
>Splintercat
>Sean Thomas
>JoJoMachine
>Bosterson
>Peachyninja
>KepPNW
....
Saw and recognized a few more I was hoping to chat with but I got there late and they slipped out early, but I got to shake a few hands.
