Hiker forum for Northern California?

Post by sparklehorse » August 7th, 2012, 4:20 pm

Hi Folks!
Anyone know of a good hiking forum in the Bay Area, or N. California? I'm trying to get some info on current trail conditions, etc, for the Trinity Alps. I've done some google-fu on it but haven't managed to turn up a site as informative as this one, or NWHikers.net.
Thanks for the help!

The Trinities are sort of an orphan as far as backpacking communities go...there's a great board for the Sierra Nevada, and there's here, but the Klamath Ranges kind of fall in between.

I've found the Trail Conditions Report put out by the USFS to be pretty useful. There's some fairly detailed information there; the catch is that they don't always update it as frequently as you might like (this one is August 13, but the author says it's been a month since the one before).

Sounds like snow isn't a concern, anyway. Where you planning to go?
