wow! snow again?
2 days ago I was on Mt Adams, Divide Trail and PCT. Started snowing on me as I hiked down from there. And snowed on my car as I drove out road 23. Summer is over.
2022 and Beyond - Snow Levels
Re: 2022 and Beyond - Snow Levels
Snow line is about 4,000 feet near Snoqualmie Pass. Took a quick easy hike to Snow Lake yesterday and hit just a little bit of snow on trail. It was so damn nice to be out in clear air, walking in a damp forest. Also, it nice was to catch the lingering fall colors and first dusting of snow this season.

A few patches of snow on the Wyeth trail starting at about 1750' and more-or-less continuous at 1,900'.

Lots of trees down, too:

Fresh snow in trees at 2500'.
Below that, just on ground.
Very little dripping to contend with today.

I was shocked to see Bells Mountain bare today.
Pic below is the only snow I saw all day, probably no more than a hundred feet below the 2200' summit.

A bit of snow at 3400-3500' on Washington's Larch Mtn.

Duncan Creek Trail was in great shape today. Well packed, but not icy. I hiked it backwards, starting and finishing at Railcar Bridge (2000'), where the snow was deep enough to be tiring, but not enough to warrant snowshoes.

Dog Mt. snow starts at about 1,000' and is spotty to about 1,400'. Continuous above that but packed down to the start of the upper meadows. Post hole city after that.

Nesmith Pt Trail: Got a late start on Jan. 22 and decided to check out the lower section of Nesmith. Continuous snow at about 1,700'. Microspikes were very helpful. Some blowdowns and ice covered rocks with a thin layer of new snow on top made for less than speedy going. Turned around at about 2,300' where a downed tree was blocking the trail and looked like it caused a bit of a slide after that. There was a set of bootprints from a previous day beyond that point, so someone went through, but I wasn't stoked on the icy jungle gym.

Western gorge, WA side. Spotty snow around 2200', consistent at 2600', deep above 2800'.
