Oregon Hikers

Kind of a shot in the dark, but I know some of you guys collect them.

For a GPS thing, I need to find a NGS (or Portland) benchmark somewhere in a heavily wooded area, preferably close to Portland and easy access but still at least 1/4 mile of walking to get in or out and must be able to actually find it. The Willamette Stone would probably be good if it were just a little farther off the road and had bigger trees.

I have this reference map which shows a ton of them, but I don't have time to goose chase ones that are hard to locate.

This BM in Forest Park may offer the quarter mile hike:
LATITUDE 45 34 33.27494(N)
LONGITUDE 122 46 16.21671(W)

East Zigzag Mountain's would, but it's snow season.

I know where they are supposed to be but already many are missing, I've been unable to find most of the ones I've looked for down by the airport, so I have my doubts about the rest.

That link gives me a server error. Tabor is not forested enough for my purposes. Forest Park is though.

I noticed some on the dead end roads in that neighborhood just north of there on Springville Rd, those are probably good.

that's where i got the data for my maps...

Why do you need to find a BM? As people have pointed out there's plenty out there, especially if you count PLCC's as well. Are we doing your surveying homework for you?
