Palmer Mill, Brower, Larch Road plats circa 1880's

Post by Peabody » December 29th, 2013, 12:01 pm

Lots of interest in the old roads near Larch. :D Below are links to original road plats from the Multnomah County SAIL site sail.multco.us The plats show the location of old wagon roads, cabins, camps, flumes, mills etc. in the area.

1891 Larch Mountain road 550.

This is a comparision of the road 550 plat and lidar map. In my opinion it clearly shows the location of the wagon road.

The map appears sideways on my browser. Is there a way of turning it right side up?

Peabody,

Thanks very much for this research. In a quick check of my tracks on Larch I haven't been near that wagon road section you have found in the Lidar data in your first picture. I will check that out at the first available opportunity. We should get together and see what is up there. I have Tuesday off.
