I just noticed this weird little oddity in Google Earth. On a snowfield east of Silcox Hut is a "message" that appears to say "HUGE BAG OF TRICK."
You can also see it here.
Any idea what the story is here?

Time for an expedition?
There are things in Google Earth that are put there as a gag

Looks like it is on a 40' by 50' sheet as best I can estimate from a Google aerial photo. A lot of work for a joke, but maybe not for a video production.

Baffling.

Maybe "Grimm" will have an episode with that in it???

Perhaps a visit on Halloween is in order?

I'd bet that's some prop for a snowboarding movie. It'd probably show up in helicopter shots.
Believe it or not, I barely ever ride a mountain bike.

Agreed. There are snowboard camps up there as well.Charley wrote:I'd bet that's some prop for a snowboarding movie. It'd probably show up in helicopter shots.
I take pictures sometimes. And sometimes I post them here:

There also seems to be a snowboarding feature just uphill from it. I can't see it well because of the lack of shadows.. but my guess is that it's a halfpipe.
EDIT:
I was also considering this possibility and I am pretty sure this might be the answer: It's an air bag for landing/practicing tricks.
In the third photo that slideshows on this website you can see that Windells (a camp on Mt. Hood) uses one. They probably got the 'custom branding' to say 'huge bag of tricks'.
