3D models of topo features

Post by vibramhead » January 22nd, 2013, 3:23 pm

An outfit called TinyMtn is selling cool little 3D models of well-known peaks and canyons. The prices are rather steep, at $100-$200 each, but I'd like to have a few. Here's Mt Hood:

I love those 3D models.

On my wall, I have Oregon, coast to past John Day River, and Swift Reservoir to Clackamas - I need the next sections North and South.

There was something like that at Wildwood Recreation site, then vandals destroyed it. Maybe they replaced it.

Yep, on my wall I have an excellent raised relief map from Summit Terragraphics that covers the Cascades from Goat Rocks down to Mt Jefferson:

Well now.. looks like I'll have to get back into 3d modeling! those look like fun, it's been awhile since I've looked at 3d printing the prices sure have dropped.
