It's been almost a month since I've been hiking due to being busy at work, house projects, and school obligations. But I did manage to catch a fantastic bird's eye view of Mt. Hood flying home from Boston yesterday. After next week, I have over two weeks of backpacking planned...can't hardly wait!
And here's the view of MSH, Ranier, and Adams on my way to Boston last Saturday...

Great pics Kam,
Did you dash out & clean the window before you took your seat ??
I invariably get a window with a smudge in the middle of it!

I've been doing about two work flights a month for awhile. Catching the first glipse of Mt Hood on the flight back is always great. Usually I can spot Jefferson first just because of the angle the plane is in.

My window had spots, but for some reason they don't show up in the pictures. As you can see, I always end up sitting over the wing. So my views are somewhat obscured. But the Cascades were so huge, it didn't matter on these flights. I would loved to have seen the pilots' view up front that evening!Guy wrote:Did you dash out & clean the window before you took your seat ??

on Thursday evening, the first Cascade peaks I saw was Three Sisters! it worked out well because on my morning flight out on Saturday, I was sitting on the north side of the plane and could see up to Ranier. It looked huge! And then on the return flight, obviously, I was on the south side. Also got some excellent views of Hells Canyon, the Wallowas, the Rockies, Glacier NP, and three of the Great Lakes. Pretty good for me since I fly about once a yearjeffstatt wrote:Usually I can spot Jefferson first just because of the angle the plane is in.

Yeah it does.
I've got 16 days left of nursing school and then I am going to go hog wild!!!!!
Oh wait, I still have the family responsibilities and I'm supposed to take my licensing exam and find a job.
I think it is our obligations that makes us savor our upcoming plans and really enjoy our adventures in the great outdoors.
You play hard because you work hard Cam!
