Great dog boarding facility

Post by BaileyBoy » October 23rd, 2009, 5:17 pm

We're getting ready to head back to Virginia and a week ago my dog Bailey suffered what I hoped was a sprained left leg running around after squirrels in Willamette Park. The vet wasn't sure if it was a sprain or possibly ligament damage but I opted for medication and rest. Well, we went back for a follow up exam and it appears he did damage his Cranial cruciate ligament rupture (CCLR) which is similar to a torn ACL in humans.

He has an exam set for a specialist when we return from vacation but we were very concerned about him returning to Double Dog Ranch because it's a facility where the dogs have acres of fenced pasture to roam along with a creek and pond, just a great place for active dogs. They have individual kennels in the barn for sleep and feeding and they have been wonderful in the past so I wanted to pass on the info to anyone else who might need a place for their dog. A web search will lead you to their website.

Their little bus picked Bailey and 3 other dogs up at Gabriel Park this morning, they also pick up at Mary Young park. They told us they'll keep Bailey in the office as an official greeter and even sent a shot they just took.

I hope Bailey gets better soon. It seems like some good people will be taking care of him.

Have a great vacation! (And I can't help it with that picture posted there, so, "awwww! He looks so cute!")

Hope Bailey gets better. My Wolfy tore his CCL and had surgery to repair it. It's good that we are heading into winter and he can rest up for summer. Such a cute guy.

I've had excellent results with the Cascade Pet Camp in Hood River, which has a similar type of facility.

I can tell Bailey's gender by the proximity of the remote.
