Panorama Point in Hood River defunded & gated

A sign on the closed gate at Panorama Point in Hood River:
Due to budget deductions this facility is no longer maintained and will be closed until further notice. Use at your own risk.

They've also closed Ruthton park for the same reason. They're eliminating more and more of the green spaces in and around Hood River, despite the objections of we who live here.

Then they'll say too many people are congregating in the areas that remain. Then they'll tell you can buy a free permit in February for just a $6 service charge to visit the places you want. But act fast there's a quota!

Yeap.

100% accurate.

The word enabling comes to mind. It's our fault for enabling this behavior and teaching the "leaders" in charge to misappropriate funds.
