MHNF, what's not to like? (Or, the NWFP can KMA)

Post by kepPNW » February 8th, 2017, 2:54 pm

Not aware of too many other governmental sites with such woefully inadequate, if not downright misinformed or even outright inaccurate, information than that promulgated upon us by the MHNF/CRGNSA.

Can't explain this! Same deal at one of the next trailheads down the road... I think I'll be holding onto these links, perhaps even printing out some copies of those PDFs while they're still up. Seems like the perfect defense, should anyone ever be so silly as to try pressing a case for violation of the NWFP "requirement" during the fall, winter, or spring. :)

Since the NWFP is an annual pass, having a seasonal requirement is purely academic. Very few novices begin their hiking regime in the cold, wet winter months, so there is little reason to employ persons and resources to sever the few one-timers in the winter.

I haven't paid any kind of access/parking fee in many many years. Have never found an unpleasant surprise on my windshield upon returning to my car.
