Not a balloon, but plastic and filled with air, and found on a hike, so I'm saying it's close enough.

Interesting - looks like it's levitating. Did you use The Force to do that?

I read that one of the "Chinese balloons" was a small, metallic balloon.

An aluminized Mylar party balloon?

Destined to fall into the wilderness where some hiker would find it and report it here?

After a long dry spell, I found two errant balloons today. Off-trail, Archer creek.

Kudos to Don for finding one in a tree. Imagine how many must be out there, but mostly too high to see.

A sagebrush birthday celebration at Quilomene Wildlife Area (on Vantage Highway east of Ellensburg, WA):

Found on Saturday 5/13, fifteen feet off of the Eagle Creek trail about a mile from Wahtum Lake. My biggest find yet, there must have been a dozen balloons all tied together. One of them was a "Happy Birthday!" balloon. I wish I had a better pic of the bunch.


Packed them all out the next day.
