I suppose this works for this thread in a Mexican restaurant birthday sort of way. One of the oddest things I have found out in the woods. Found on the old Barlow Road.
Happy Birthday!

It's not a party balloon, but it is a balloon! How it got here, on the ridge west of Duncan Creek and north of Archer Mt. is the mystery.

That toucan balloon is quite a find.
Here's a bit of ribbon I encountered, no corresponding balloon.

not even 6am, and encountered my first balloon, just sitting there in the middle of the road, as if one of you staged it for me

Perhaps I'd be more outraged by the HB balloons if these other items were not present along the trail:
1) pooh bags that never get picked up
2) pooh bags flung into the outstretched branches of trees
3) beer cans...pop cans...water bottles
4) plastic shopping bags
5) tires (unless attached to a car that's been abandoned before 1960)
6) bagged trash from home (typically driven out to the shoulder and thrown over the side)
7) abandoned furniture
8) pretty much anything that is not festive or an antique
So if you see a Minions balloon drifting toward a hiking trail, I'd appreciate an e-letter.
Richard,
Here ya go: found today on a bushwhack hike up a ridge about 2 1/2 miles SW of Mitchell Peak
a little the worse for wear but I do what I can.. While I was at it, I found three more in separate locations on that ridge: Oh, and about 25 cans, bottles and other trash at the end of the logging road where I parked for this hike.
