I wonder if rubber balloons (latex?) biodegrade better than mylar

One wonders with all of these posts of found balloons along the narrow corridors for hiking trails how many more are out there off trail. Must be hundreds :cry: .

on the other hand, probably balloons are far down on the list of impacts to wildlife, probably more aesthetic than anything else

interesting there's a website about this

yeah, I thought latex would eventually degrade but takes a long time

we need to develop plastic that degrades better

No kidding. In fact, I'd say the only reason most of these were still out there was because they weren't on trails.
