That movie grabbed me by the balls right from the start, and never let go.
I dare you to complain about your cold wet hike after watching that!
What movies make you feel like we're soft and spoiled?

on a more serious note, the documentary movie Touching The Void really makes any minor outdoor adventure mishap seem soft and spoiled.Koda wrote:DeliveranceChip Down wrote:What movies make you feel like we're soft and spoiled?

The Wolf of Wall Street
Re: the revenant
Let's see, about every war movie I have ever seen, especially ones about the Holocaust.
Movies about the Depression and Dust Bowl
Movies about life on the Oregon Trail. For that matter, all Westerns.
How about climbing movies...they don't make them if everyone gets back to base camp with all of their fingers and toes in tact (Everest/Into Thin Air; Touching the Void; K2). I would put Alive in this category.
I think there are more movies where I think "glad that's not me" than there are movies where I think "wish I was him." Most movies are about the struggle to overcome great odds.
The Reverent is a good book (haven't seen the movie), and yes, surviving a bear attack and crawling back to friendly surroundings is quite traumatic, but it's not unique in making me think that my couch is a safer place to be.
