The picture is great.

I like Velcro. The sound can be mildly disturbing if there is a lot of it to separate, and it get used inappropriately a lot, but there are uses where Velcro is the best choice available. For instance, a back pocket on hiking pants; if it is going to have some kind of closure I sure don't want a button or zipper under there to irritate me when my hip belt is tightened (although given the choice I'd prefer pants without back pockets at all for hiking). Also if I want a closure that won't allow small objects to pass, a button is less than ideal.

I have never 'cleaned' Velcro, nor have I ever had it stop working. As such, I prefer it to keep a cargo pocket closed. Buttons fall off. Zippers hang up and tend to fail. Velcro keeps working.

I guess your mileage may vary.
