From my home state. Sorta like Silver Falls only different. ;)

So, let me get this straight: you are comparing a 391 mile drive with 10 waterfalls along the way to the 7-mile Silver Falls hike with an equal number of waterfalls. That would be like me comparing the lighthouse tour on the Oregon Coast to the multitude of lighthouses of Michigan.

I'm officially enough of a map geek that to confirmed Multnomah alone is nearly double the drop of all those waterfalls combined..

I love the UP. I grew up in Wisconsin; some of my happiest summer memories are hiking and swimming in the Northwoods country around Lake Superior. It might not have the "wow" factor that western North America has, but it has a real beauty all its own.

I grew up in MI too. I love how the ski resorts there don't mention their "vertical." The highest one has 900 vertical feet!

So sad.

I do not miss living there. Not even a little bit.
