It would just be a shame if someone saw all this rain and figured the summer's over and not plan any trips :)
Ssshh.. don't jinx it.. :P

After all, fall colors work best with dry weather..

I can't wait to get past Labor Day. The crowds diminish. Not so hot. Snow has melted. Bugs have died off.

I don't dislike fall. It is a beautiful time of year, for sure. But summer is my favorite season with the wildflowers and the long days and the lingering evening light. Fall is bittersweet because while it is a beautiful and amazing season it also means the end of my beloved summer. The "scream commercial" is an exaggeration of how I feel about the end of the awesome summer season. :D (Actually, the commercial depicts EXACTLY how I feel about the onset of winter. That is a season I will never come to love.)

Fall colors come early in some places. At Clear Lake a couple weeks ago the maples were already turning red in the lava fields.

Measurable rain every day this month! Might be an easier record to break? ;)

It's Official: This Is Portland's Wettest December On Record

Down here we have 8' of snow on Mt. Ashland, with more coming. We've also had snow on the valley floor and more at that level is expected on Christmas Eve. The southern Cascades are also snow-packed. So the old "normal" is back (for the moment). Went out and got the LovedOne new snowshoes to celebrate! :D Which would have been money wasted last year.

So the question now is, what's the record for consecutive days *with* rain?
