I saw one weather report that said rain fell breaking the streak of no rain
I'll have to research this some more
Plus, small chance of thunderstorms tonight
Consecutive Days Without Rain

Wunderground's still reporting 0.00" at both PDX and Pearson as of now...

Even if no rain falls at the PDX rain gauge, hasn't the record kind of been broken in spirit?
Why don't we find the gauge and put up an umbrella

No, the record is for the rain gauge at the airport
It can rain everywhere else
Now if I could locate that rain gauge and put an umbrella over it....

Wow, no love for the Rod Steiger counter joke, Chase's sense of humor must have infected you all!!
The streak of no rain in the Portland area is over since I saw and felt rain this afternoon in
downtown Portland.
Martell, can you lock this thread up before it gets any wetter around here for my vacation next week!!

Rod Steiger Counter? too subtle for me
the record is that in 1967, there were 41 days without any rain at the airport
no records kept track of for anywhere else
next week should be fine, unless you go to the southeast or something

Re: Consecutive Days Without Rain
I just got back a few minutes ago after driving in from Anacortes and saw a lot of rain coming out of the clouds to the west as I drove. It was evaporating and nothing hit the ground, though, except a brief spurt as I went through Tacoma. My gauge here just off MP five in Vancouver saw no rain at all, so far, as of 8:20 PM.
I remember well the summer of '67: I turned 20 that summer and worked at the old Fred Meyer bakery on the block bordered by 11th, 12th, Hawthorne and Madison in SE. I worked feeding 32 loaves every 40 seconds into the main ovens and also worked unloading flour trucks when needed. It was excruciatingly hot with several days over 100 and pushing 120 inside near the ovens. This was a high production bakery and we turned out about 40,000 loaves and pasteries/day. I probably drank two gallons or more of water per day but got all the fresh bread, pastries and donuts I could eat! yummmm!

We still have the record for consecutive days with no measureable rain. That'll be in mid September. Not likely...

Re: Consecutive Days Without Rain
We've had 33 days with no measureable rain, but Wed, Thur, Fri may have rain, bummer, no where close to the 67 days
