"Ruins" on Latourell Falls Trail

I tried searching, but didn't find anything. A friend took these pictures today on the Latourell Falls trail and is wondering what they are. Thought you guys might know. Anyone?

Foundation for a water tank I believe. Or maybe just the old 1914 Falls Chalet. Scott Cook has some notes in his "Curious Gorge" book.
