Is this the tree over the Clackamas narrows?

Post by payslee » October 8th, 2014, 4:14 pm

So today I was researching something totally unrelated over at Oregon Historical Society, and came across this 1912 edition of "Carman" which was apparently a railroad worker employee magazine. I know it's unlikely, but it would make me very happy if this were the tree across the narrows that is still across it today.

Thoughts? Anyone recognize the place as being somewhere else?

Close, but the hills are too small. Plus the angle of the log is too sharply down. The river is too shallow also. The narrows near the log are quite deep. Great photo tho

Since the people are standing on a tall rock, I'm thinking its the spire along the Riverside of the Clackamas Trail (between Rainbow and Riverside CGs).
