William Sullivan's book "Hiking Oregon's History" has a good write up on the lighthouse as well. My favorite was a storm years ago where fish(!) were thrown through the lighthouse windows in a storm!

Next time you visit Cannon Beach, go down to the Cannon Beach History Center and Museum, located at the corner of S. Spruce Street and Sunset Blvd., and check out the replica of the lighthouse. Pretty neat to see the close-up details:)
