Last week, TKO had a crosscut crew up at Elk Meadows, camped out there. Over a period of five days, they logged out the entire Bluegrass Ridge Tie Trail #647B from the bottom up. The Bluegrass Ridge Trail towards Elk Mountain and the Elk Mountain spur are also completely logged.
No tread work was done on the Bluegrass Tie Trail, so it's a rough but very obvious track (the boots of the saw crew have stamped it bare) with a few small ground-level stepover logs still in place.
There's still the old trail sign at the bottom, but at the top the trail is now just marked by a cairn. I'll post a trip report in the next couple of days.
