Hunchback Mountain

Post by DannyH » July 31st, 2022, 5:31 am

Did a car shuttle hike from Cool Creek to the Zigzag Ranger Station by going up to Devil's Peak Lookout and then all the way across Hunchback Mountain to the Ranger Station. Hunchback Mountain Trail is extremely difficult to follow due to severe blowdown of large trees for about a mile from the Green Canyon Junction towards the ranger station. Fortunately the trail more of less follows the ridge line through here, but even with that knowledge it was very difficult. A large tree has fallen down the length of the Green Canyon Junction, we met a couple near Devil's Peak that had missed that turn.
