New slide on Eagle Creek Trail

Post by greglief » June 13th, 2022, 8:25 am

Yesterday (6/12) I encountered a slide along on the Eagle Creek Trail app. 0.15 mile south of Tish Creek. A 30 foot section of the trail is sliding down the hill. At one point the trail is no wider than an average boot. See attached photo.

Approximate location is 45.61414, -121.88728.

The slide occurred sometime within the past week because we visited the previous Saturday (6/4) and this section of trail was fine. I saw a number of hikers struggling with it, and given the continuing rain and foot traffic it will only get worse. I have also sent this information to the CGNSA.
