Dozens of trees down: 400 Trail between Tanner and Eagle creeks

Post by bobcat » January 19th, 2021, 4:53 pm

The section of the 400 between Tanner and Eagle creeks was really slammed by the storm last week. There are literally dozens of trees down. I carved passage by sawing off many of the branches, but it's not a lollygagging section of trail until it gets properly cleared out. There's a small slide that crosses the switchbacks close to Tanner Creek. The worst spot is a large tree whose root ball is blocking the trail - this is at the top of the switchbacks above Eagle Creek. There are numerous trees down in that area. Also a couple of large trees down on the Shady Cove Trail just across the Eagle Creek Footbridge.
