Ankle twisting hole in Wygant Trail

On the Wygant Trail, about 2.5 miles from the trailhead, about 10 yards past a large uprooted tree and one or two hundred yards before the Chetwoot Loop trail rejoins the main trail, is a hole about the size of half a basketball. It was covered in leaves like a booby trap and I stepped right into it. I imagine someone with a shovel could fill it in a few minutes. As a band-aid, I placed some branches into it to make it more visible, and lessen the drop if it becomes covered again.

I was back here today, so I brought a garden trowel and filled the hole. I used material from the root ball of a nearby fallen tree rather than digging a new hole somewhere.

Good on you! I was going to take care of that this week, but you spared me the effort!
