Owl Point / Old Vista Ridge trail very difficult

Post by Openminded2 » November 1st, 2020, 6:36 pm

The blow down on the old vista ridge trail bringing the hiker to Owl point, Katsuk Point and Red Hill is very difficult going with a large number of blow downs.

If you don’t know where the old vista Ridge trail starts off of the Vista Ridge trail, you’ll have a hard time spotting the sign but it is hidden behind a fallen tree just before the registration box. See pic

FYI, these are the kinds of things that someone with a hand saw can make MUCH easier to traverse - until a saw crew comes and cuts the whole thing out. Cutting out a few branches to make a path thru it and throwing loose stuff off the tread can make it WAY easier. And will make the job of the saw crew easier as well.

Not many people think about doing this, but if everyone did a little bit it would help a great deal.
