This trail is in need of some significant maintenance between the ridge crest at around mile 3.5 and the Great Pyramid viewpoint.
Up from the trailhead until the crest, the trail is steep but easy to follow, well-graded, and mostly clear of understory. There is some blowdown, but nothing large enough to impede progress.
Starting at the crest, however, there is a substantial amount of undergrowth creeping into the tread. There is one medium-sized downed tree that is hard to navigate around; going under is the only option and doing so with a large backpack would be next to impossible. The biggest obstacle by far, however, is the condition of the tread. Especially around the crest, the trail is significantly eroded, and in many places it is a challenge to find good footing. As the tread is only around a foot wide in spots, this presents a significant impediment.
I didn't go farther than the viewpoint, so can't comment on the rest of the trail.

Is the trail between Green Canyon Way and Devil's Peak passable? If it's doable that's another spot on my bucket list for the summer.greenjello85 wrote: ↑July 25th, 2018, 3:00 pmBetween the pyramid and devils peak are hundreds of down trees concentrated near the intersection with green canyon way.

It’s passable but has a TON of down trees and the trail is generally worse than the section you posted about.

It looks like it is solidly within the Wilderness boundary. Here is a map:
