Eagle Creek Trail Cleanup/Tish Creek Bridge Feb 21-24 2017

Post by rcPDX » February 21st, 2017, 6:29 pm

Mt Hood Chapter PCTA worked to clean up the Eagle Creek Trail today, work will continue through Friday. Today's crew cleared about a half-mile of trail, and cleared the rock/mud load on the first little bridge near the trailhead. We're doing this so the contractor can hike to Tish Creek to do the ground work to remove and replace the Tish Creek Bridge.

Many thanks to the volunteers working these four days. These photographs by volunteer Terry Hill to help show what we're doing.

How exciting to see the bridge! I love seeing the trail work pics, too. Hoping for lots more of those.

Day 2 (Feb 22) went well. We had better weather - even some sunshine. We've improved about 1.4 miles of trail so far. We're scraping a walking path through the snow. It would still be best to wait before coming to visit. Still highly recommend traction devices on your boots.

Awesome. I've wondered how they do things like that, helicopters make way more sense than packing it in and assembling it up there.
