Hand Lake Trail

We just got back from a loop around Scott Mountain in the Mt. Washington Wilderness which included the Hand Lake Trail from the Scotty Way Trail to the Deer Butte Trail. The Willamette National Forest page has this to say:
The trail hooks northwest and passes by and through old burnt forest over undulating terrain before ending at Deer Butte Trail #3508.
At a Glance
Current Conditions: 7/22/2016: Trail is open and cleared.
Here are some samples of an approx. 2.5 mile section
It didn't appear that this section had been clear or even maintained for quite some time. I contacted the McKenzie River Ranger District to see if they will update the trail information but thought I'd post here too.
