Tree Havoc on the Eagle Creek #440

Post by forestkeeper » January 29th, 2016, 5:00 am

As I hiked the Eagle Creek, on Wednesday (1-27-16), to get some shots of Skoonichuk and Tenas Falls, I came to nearly a dozen blowdowns and areas of tree damage.

Here's the bridge at Tish Creek.

And the new Tish Creek Crossing.

Trekking poles and balance preferred.

Here's the Whopper. You either have to be good at the splits, riding horses or jumping like Michael Jordan to cross this log.

And just prior to hiking the short uphill grade, then down a little to 4 1/2 Mile Bridge is the last step over.

Paul Bunyan will need to drink his morning coffee when tackling this trail. ;)

That's an impressive amount of damage to the bridge. Eagle Creek is going to need a lot of work to get in shape for this season.
