Random side question, anyone have the backstory on the Corky's Corner name?

35 years or so ago I was told the same spot was referred to as The Upper Saddle. The Lowe's in 50 Hikes Portland & NW Oregon (1986) mention it as a narrow crest at the top of the upper basin, but give it no name.

I could be wrong, but think that was a name applied by the Mazamas.

I always thought this was Corky but maybe there is more to the story.
