starvation ridge cutoff trail in bad shape

Post by anna » July 22nd, 2015, 2:35 pm

No warning signs, but beware of several washed out areas plus mini rockslides, not to mention the "ball bearing type" slippery gravel over hard baked clay soil. Not fun even with poles. This is part of the shorter waterfall loop or can be the end or begining of a Defiance trip. Some sections of both the Defiance and regular Starvation Ridge trail, that go through the powerline sections, are also a little dicey, but nothing like the cutoff trail. This as of 7/19/15.

Has that trail EVER been in good shape? I went down it 4 years ago and found it pretty much exactly as Anna has described.
