the bench is a reminder there will always be those loose in society that have no respect for others or outcomes of their actions.

LOL because what else can you say: Today, Corbett fire responded to a fire on the top of Sherrard Pt...guess what was burning and destroyed? The other bench. I think now we will remove both benches and be done with that! Maybe rock benches? Those will never get grafitti

UNBELIEVABLE! If they are that determined, I'm pretty sure they would have no problem destroying rock benches. Certainly would be nice to catch these a......s.

Permanent gate closure? I'm not serious of course, that would be a shame, but sometimes the only way to protect a place is to...protect it.

Stone, concrete or iron.

Are those 3 guys still living up there in their car? Maybe someone can deputize them and have them keep an eye on things.

I didn't know about this until I was up there Wednesday. So seriously messed up. I also was very sad this fall to see more active graffiti on rocks and trees at Eagle creek this fall.
I don't get it.

Worse than the graffiti, people are chipping away at that petrified stump near the EC trailhead.

As of 11/21/15, one bench is missing its backrest and the seat is now a set of vertical slats (rather than the ergonomic plastic fake wood from before). The other bench is completely gone, save for a tiny charred remnant bolted to the ground. WTF, mate?
