Rock Slide on Larch Mountain Trail

Post by arlohike » January 18th, 2015, 4:14 pm

I saw this rock slide today on Larch Mountain Trail, 1.5 miles south of Multnomah Falls Lodge and .2 miles north of the junction with Wakheena Trail. I haven't been there since last spring, so I don't know how new this is.

Other hikers and dogs didn't seem to have a problem with it, but it takes a couple delicate steps to get around it. Fortunately it's on a switchback section and the drop is only about 10 feet to the next section of trail below.

After yesterday's heavy rain, not surprising!
