This is a report of some blowdown at the midpoint of the Lower Punchbowl spur trail, a few yards uphill from the lower stairway. There is one large douglas fir across the trail, plus a few smaller trees on either side of the main blowdown. Just uphill from the fir, there is some trail slippage in a ravine, tied to the blowdown destabilizing the slope a bit. I cleared all of the small stuff, but the big tree, a couple smaller trees, some slipped root wads and the slipped trail will need a trail crew and an hour or two.
Smaller tree across the trail - uphill from the main downfall (view is looking back/uphill):

A wider view of the main downfall, with the ravine -- the slipped trail is just outside this view on the left, and would benefit from a bit of drainage work:

Thanks for the scouting report!
We have a PCTA volunteer trail work party scheduled for Monday Feb 16 and Eagle Creek is on the list of the trails we plan to log out. This report helps a lot to size up the work.

Chuck and Dick removed these trees on Monday Feb 16 as part of a PCTA volunteer work crew working on trails in the Gorge.
