Re: Pictures from your computer
Flickr has changed their software and it's now very difficult to grab the image url. It's still there embedded inside an HTML string of text for the HTML link. But there is a workaround, at least for now!kepPNW wrote:Flickr is particularly easy, if you already have the photos there! Just click that share button, "Grab the HTML/BBCode", choose a size (800x is best - that's the max visible here anyway), then copy what they give you and paste into your post. I usually delete the part following "[/img][/url]" and add my own caption in its place. HTH!
Scroll to the bottom of your Flickr page and switch the language from English to some other language you are reasonably comfortable in (for me Spanish or French). Now go to your photos. All you have to do is right click the image and you can copy the image location - just like in the "old" days. Our international friends, it seems, have not been upgraded.

This post probably needs a fresh start sometime in the near future.
You can actually drag and drop images when you are posting, and big files get automatically sized down.

It's kind of quirky, though: when you drag a file anywhere into the browser window, the text input box gets highlighted as if it will accept your file. But it only really works if you drag the file into the text box itself, NOT into the "attachments" section below.
