I didn't realize we could post without the link back. Had to test it for myself.

That is exactly why I never embed my Flikr photos, all the links that accompany it. This is very good news

Huh? Just edit them out. It's incredibly straight-forward.

It's always been possible able to embed flickr photos without links. True, if you use flickr's "share" feature it will bring a link with it, but you can just delete the URL tag and leave the IMG tag.

Or you can right-click the photo on flickr and get the image location then use the IMG tag here to embed it. Like so:

Karl, remember not everyone has that much time on their hands. Editing those links out on a smart phone is very time consuming, and can be quite a hassle at times. On a PC its a synch.

Ooooh! Hellyeah, totally different story on a smartphone! I think I've made exactly one post here that had a photo using my phone. It's not a stretch to say I owe much of my career to a real keyboard and readily available cut/paste tools! A touch screen makes an extremely poor HID in many/most cases.

Phones are consumptive devices, not creative ones! ;)

So... Made me look. Has something actually changed? I don't see anyway to grab the direct link, other than editing the BBCode offering(s)?

If you right-click on a flickr photo you get a little pop-up for the various sizes of the photo that are available. Choose one. On the next page you can right-click the photo and choose "copy image URL" or "copy image address" (the language varies from browser to browser). Now you have the direct photo link.

Hope that makes sense! :)
